At last, it's back all summer long! The vasque de Paris 2024 (that's its name now) is back to amaze Parisians, Ile-de-France residents and tourists every day, from June 21 to September 14, 2025. A hot-air balloon accessible to all, free of charge, during the day, and which you'll once again be able to see soaring into the sky every evening. But you still need to know when to see it take flight... What's the best time to see it in the sky? Here's the answer...

Would you like to see the Paris 2024 cauldron rise into the sky again? If you weren't able to be in Paris during the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, you're in luck: every summer until the Los Angeles Games in 2028, the hot-air balloon that made the Paris Games so charming returns to the Jardin des Tuileries from June 21 to September 14, 2024.

You'll be able to see it during the day, under much less restrictive conditions, as it will still be accessible free of charge, but without reservation, every day from 10am to 9pm, from June 22 (for June 21, no access, just a raising of the cauldron for the closing concert of France Music Week, for the Fête de la Musique).

So this summer, visitors can once again admire the vase... And although the Garden is not accessible at night, we're also looking for a spot to watch the cauldron take flight every evening. We're taking advantage of the last days of the games to go and see it!

One year after the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the Olympic cauldron will once again rise into the sky aboard its hot-air balloon at dusk for the summer of 2025. An opportunity for Parisians of all ages to admire it from a variety of vantage points. Here are our ideas for night-time spots to see this flame levitating above the capital. [Read more]

A rather unpredictable schedule for raising the Olympic cauldron

How do you get to see the cauldron take flight? This year, there will be no wacky timetables and no "sunset" lifting of the cauldron. The organizers have kept things simple, setting a fixed timetable for each month, modulating it according to the time of sunset. The schedules in question :

  • Saturday June 21: 10:11pm
  • Every evening in June and July: 10:30pm
  • Every evening in August: 9:30pm
  • Every evening in September: 8:30pm

Please note that times are subject to change depending on wind, weather and other factors. So be patient, and admire this fine piece of engineering paying tribute to the Montgolfier brothers' first manned flight.
